Biography
Donna serves as a Senior Mental Health Counselor III at Counseling and Psychological Services and is passionate about promoting mental health and well-being within a university setting. Donna is a national board-certified counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Yoga Teacher. Grounded in a client-centered approach, she integrates techniques from mindfulness, somatic practices, expressive arts therapy, and evidence-based modalities to support clients in gaining awareness of their values and goals, and developing the skills needed to create the life they want. She has a particular interest in group work and values the power of shared experience in healing and personal growth.
Prior to her current role, Donna held positions at Southeast Missouri State University for a decade where she delivered individual and group counseling services, served on the Crisis Team, coordinated the Campus Violence Prevention Program, served as an adviser to peer education groups and as a graduate assistant. Donna holds a Specialist in Education and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University, as well as a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
