Biography
Her academic interests focus on Maternal Child, Population Health and on supporting student success. Dr. Huey has over 25 years experience in nursing including practicing as an advanced practice nurse and teaching at the Doctoral, Masters, Direct Entry into Masters, and Bachelors level. She earned her Bachelors in Biology and Nursing as well as her Masters and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Huey began her teaching career at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing in 2006 where she coordinated the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program and later became an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Department Chair of Maternal Child Nursing. She has been teaching in the first inaugural class of the Direct Entry in Nursing program at the University of West Florida.
