Biography

Mariah Morris, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice teaches online courses in the RN to BSN program and the MSN program. She is lead faculty for Health Assessment, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology in the RN-BSN program. She is also lead faculty for Care of the Child and Family (seminar and clinical) in the FNP program.

Dr. Morris is a board-certified, pediatric nurse practitioner who has experience in general pediatrics and pediatric neurology. Her main areas of research interest focus on childhood obesity and the management of pediatric concussions.

Before coming to UWF in 2014, Dr. Morris had experience in the clinical setting where she worked on a pediatric medical-surgical floor as an RN. After receiving her APRN degree, she worked at local elementary and high schools providing primary care services to underprivileged children. She then went on to specialize in child neurology where she worked as an APRN seeing pediatric patients with various neurologic issues in the inpatient and outpatient setting for 7 years. Dr. Morris has also been involved in curriculum development and revision in both the RN-BSN and MSN programs.

She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Florida State University, her Master’s of Science in Nursing with focus on Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Central Florida, and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of South Alabama.
