Biography
Dr. Jake Bush is passionate about advancing nursing education through innovative teaching strategies and helping others discover mental health coping strategies. He has taught at the TBSN, RN-BSN, and graduate level. His scholarship focuses on exploring innovative teaching strategies as well as understanding resilience and mental health within the LGBTQ+ community. He has presented at national and international conferences. He has published within peer-reviewed journals and co-authored an open access text, Mental Health is a Verb. He is a three-time alumnus of the University of West Florida with degrees in Nursing and Psychology. He received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Central Florida. He has achieved the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification. He is a member of the Upsilon Kappa Sigma chapter, and the Pensacola National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and serves as a clinical director for the Special Olympics.
In his free time, Dr. Bush enjoys reading, traveling, kayaking, and riding his bike on the Blackwater River Trail.
