Biography

Brandy Clayton, Ph.D., MSN, RN,  Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, teaches courses in Direct Entry MSN and Traditional BSN programs. 

Her academic interests focus on developing instructional strategies to improve student learning outcomes, inter-professional educational collaboration, and simulation.

During her 25 plus years as a professional nurse and nurse educator, she has practiced in medical-surgical health, maternal child/newborn, NICU, family health, pediatrics, community, leadership, and hospital administration. She advocates for community resources and assets regarding teen pregnancy. 

She received her bachelor’s in nursing from Columbus State University, her master’s in nursing education from the Grantham University, and her doctorate of philosophy in nursing education from Liberty University. 

Dr. Clayton served 24 years as Active duty Army Nurse, specializing in maternal child health. She currently serves as Army reservist case manager/ civil affairs public education officer.
