Laura Flaniken

Biography

Laura Flaniken, clinical site coordinator and instructor, teaches special clinical topics, clinical chemistry I with laboratory, hematology laboratory,  immunohematology laboratory, and immunodiagnostics laboratory.

Flaniken is a medical laboratory scientist with 15 years of experience working in the fields of
immunohematology, chemistry, and hematology in clinical settings. She has also been the supervisor of a
physician's office lab in Pensacola. 

Before coming to UWF in 2014, she was an instructor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
She’s also worked as a medical technologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas
Children's Hospital, Baptist Hospital in Arkansas, West Florida Hospital, and Baptist Healthcare in Pensacola.

She received a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and a master's in adult education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She received her bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and her master's in biotechnology from John Hopkins University.
