Embrace your passion for shared cultural history with a minor in African studies.

What You Will Learn

This minor introduces you to the rich diversity of African cultures and peoples, and to the impact that African cultures have played in contributing to the history and shaping of the United States. This contribution is experienced in all parts of American society from civil rights, to literature, to workplace culture and law.

The Africana Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program and is available to all students.

UWF offers classes through various delivery methods, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Though UWF makes every effort to provide on-campus classes in face-to-face programs, there is a possibility that some classes will have limited availability and may be offered online only. For more information, please review the modes of delivery and instructional methods.
