Each institution must annually provide to all enrolled students a notice of the availability of the information that is required to be made available to students under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or "FERPA"), and under The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA).

State Authorization of Distance Education

Federal law requires the University of West Florida to make available to prospective and enrolled students the names of associations, agencies, or governmental bodies that accredit, approve or license the institution and its programs and the procedures for obtaining or reviewing documents describing accreditation, approval or licensing.

The following link furnishes all information relating to the authority of the University of West Florida to offer postsecondary education programs for credit to students residing outside the state of Florida either online or in the form of clinicals, practicums, internships/externships, mentoring, labs, or student teaching in forty-nine states and the District of Columbia:

If you are considering an academic program that leads to a professional license in your state, it is highly recommended that you first seek guidance from the appropriate licensing agency in your home state BEFORE beginning the academic program located outside your state.
