Biography

Mr. Taekyoung "Shawn" Kim earned his Master of Science in Mathematics with specialization in Mathematics Education at Oklahoma State University and he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with secondary teaching licensure at Iowa State University.

He is interested in learning more about 'mathematical knowledge for teaching' in order to help students gain a conceptual understanding of mathematics. In addition, he focuses on supporting students as they develop their understanding of mathematical ideas.

In 2024, Mr. Kim was awarded the SGA Distinguished Teaching Award. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and surfing.
