Biography

Dr. Anthony Okafor, an Associate Professor, teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses. He has written book chapters on entropy-based techniques, data mining in biomedicine, and theory and algorithm for cooperative space. Okafor has both a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, where he focused on operations research, data mining and applied optimization. He earned a M.A. in Mathematics at UWF and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria. His research areas include operations research, global optimization, computational and applied Mathematics, entropy optimization and public health statistics. Okafor joined the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in 1991.
