Automated External Defibrillators

Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are placed in several buildings across campus and each UWF police patrol vehicle.

A collection of Automatic External Defibrillator equipment, including an AED device, a backpack, instructional signs, gloves, scissors, and a storage box.

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and delivers an electric shock during sudden cardiac arrest to restore a normal heartbeat.

Remember, the first step is to call 911, then open the case and follow the directions.

Once you open the carry case, the system will provide voice and text prompts to guide you. The system will not deliver a shock unless it is necessary.
