Data Analytics Service Fees
The PAM Lab offers its statistical and analytical services to both internal and external clients. Depending on the scope of the project, the PAM Lab offers varying fee schedules.
Fee Schedule
For each project, an initial consultation meeting is offered free of charge. At this meeting, PAM Lab consultant(s) will learn about the client’s needs and discuss an overview of the research project and/or problems. In terms of fees and scope of the project, the PAM Lab offers the following services after the initial consultation meeting:
Option | Service | Fee for service | Fee |
---|---|---|---|
1 | The scope of the project is intensive and requires work from the PAM Lab team | Full fee for service | $250/hr |
2 | The scope of the project is relatively basic and requires work from one data analyst or statistician | Full fee for service | $100/hr |
3a | The scope of the project is intensive and requires work from the entire PAM Lab team | Reduced fee for service & co-authorship | $75/hr |
3b | The scope of the project is relatively basic and requires the work of one data analyst or statistician | Waived fee for co-authorship | $0 |
If a client agrees to use the PAM Lab consultant services, the Master Service Agreement will include the appropriate option and an estimated number of hours to complete the project.
The scope of the project will be determined by, but not limited to, the following:
- scrubbing data based on different types of analyses needed
- types preliminary analyses to validate the usability of data
- design of statistical experiments
- types of descriptive statistics and/or appropriate statistical analyses and models to be used
- programming needs (Python, R, SAS, etc.)
- types of data visualization
The deliverables to the client will depend on the option selected but will include at a minimum: tables, charts, and graphs of analyzed/modeled data; and a summary of results.
Some projects may result in the publication of collaborative interdisciplinary research. Depending on the scope of the project, work provided by the PAM Lab may not merit co-authorship, especially if the client is paying a fee-for-service. In this case, we encourage authors to recognize our work in the acknowledgments section of the paper. However, some projects may result in the publication of collaborative interdisciplinary research. In this case, it may be appropriate that co-authorship is granted to our consultants. We treat authorship, which is an acknowledgment of an intellectual contribution, separate from the service fees. That is, the service fees do not necessarily replace authorship. However, depending on the circumstance, services fees may be reduced or waived for work completed by one of our consultants who are operating in a collaborative role that includes co-authorship. Co-authorship is appropriate under the following guidelines:
- Made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; and
- Has drafted statistical portion(s) of the work or revised it critically for important intellectual content
