Christian Garman

Biography

Christian Garman is a full-time faculty member at the University of West Florida, teaching in the Department of Communication. Focusing on his decades-long career as a broadcaster and mass communicator, Garman teaches courses on public speaking, media relations, multimedia journalism, advertising and PR, and more.

Garman has been in the public eye in Northwest Florida since 1996. After spending 20 years as the morning meteorologist at WEAR-TV, Garman has continued forecasting for the Gulf Coast through various outlets, including PensacolaBeach.com, WOW Radio, the Destin Fishing Rodeo, and as a regular fill-in meteorologist at WEAR. He’s also a professional emcee and has served in that capacity for the ITEN Wired Conference for the last
several years. Other past emcee duties include An Evening with Barbara Bush when the former first lady was a guest of Pensacola State College, An Evening with Robin Williams when the Oscar winner brought his show to Pensacola, the Baptist Health Care Stroke Symposium, and the Gulf Breeze Hospital Tree of Lights annual Christmas dedication.


An avid sports fan, Garman is the play-by-play football announcer for Friday Night Rivals, the WEAR-TV high-school football television series, and the University of West Florida women’s basketball team (#goargos)!


Garman spends his free time with his wife, Sheree, and their two daughters, Rylee and Gracie.
