Academic Advising Information for Non-Degree & Transient Students
This page provides information useful to Non-Degree & Transient students who need to connect with an academic advisor as part of their next steps after admission.
Meeting with an Academic Advisor
Welcome to the University of West Florida! Non-Degree & Transient students are not assigned to a specific academic advisor. However, there may be times when Non-Degree & Transient students need assistance with pre-requisite overrides, course restrictions, or other guidance from an academic advisor to be successful at UWF.
Students will use Navigate found in MyUWF to make an appointment with an academic advisor in the department that most closely aligns with their UWF course goals. Please wait approximately 24 hours after admission before you will have access to the platform to schedule your advising appointment.
Once access to Navigate is available, use the "Non-Degree Student" service reason when scheduling an appointment. Navigate will present the available options for appointments to select the one that works best. You will choose from the location that best fits your course goals. You will want to use the Advising Directory to identify the most appropriate College that houses your department of interest and schedule the appointment with the advisor(s) indicated for that area.
