Each year, Information Technology Services publishes computer purchase recommendations. They are designed to ensure greater product reliability, usability, quality, functionality, and support. Be aware that these recommendations are based on typical computing use. Students interested in purchasing a computer should consult with their faculty, department technology support staff, and Residence Hall Coordinator for assistance choosing computer configuration options and peripherals.

Educational Discounts

Most computer manufacturers offer educational discounts on their websites. Shop around for the best price and warranty before purchasing.

The University Bookstore also sells Dell computers at a discounted price. If you purchase a Dell computer from the bookstore, the ITS Help Desk will make any warranty hardware repairs that you require while you are a student at UWF.
