UWF Business Enterprises, Inc., Created to Support UWF

UWF and universities across Florida are growing, state funding for higher education has significantly declined. In fact, state funding has declined by more than 30% since 2007. Higher tuition has made up for part of the shortfall, but students cannot be expected to keep pace with this trend. Alternative sources of income have become necessary. UWF Business Enterprises, Inc. was created to help the university ease the economic strain and continue to grow and fulfill its mission into the future.

UWF Plans for the Future

University of West Florida President, Judy Bense is committed to enhancing student life and the traditional collegiate experience for students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community.

By fall 2015, the university projects an enrollment of 14,000 students, with 30 percent living on campus. In the next 20 to 30 years, UWF would like to add facilities to house classrooms and academic space, residence halls, and retail space; a new student union, an events center, parking garages, restaurants, a hotel/conference center and eventually, a football stadium.
