Award Description
The Distinguished University Professorships serve to recognize full professors who continue to excel in teaching, scholarship and creative activity, and research and service. The award is held for a three-year period beginning in the spring semester, but recipients hold the title, Distinguished University Professor, through their career at The University of West Florida. The funding source for the awards is the Pace Distinguished University Professorship endowment managed by the UWF Foundation.

Those named Distinguished University Professors will be awarded:
The departments of those selected to be Distinguished University Professors will be awarded $10,000 per year during the tenure of the award (normally three years) for departmental faculty development (travel, equipment, etc.).
The award will be effective January 1, 2008.
Award Timeline
Nominations must be submitted to the Provost's Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2007, so the nominee can be notified and has adequate time to prepare an application. Please send your nominations to the Office of the Provost, Building 10, Room 210, or by email - academicaffairs@uwf.edu. Self nominations are appropriate.
Applications are to be submitted to the Provost's Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2007. Portfolios will be reviewed by the selection committee and a recommendation forwarded to the Provost.
The Provost will make an award announcement by the end of the Fall 2007 semester.
