Robin Zimmern

Biography

Robin Zimmern has served the University of West Florida since 2007 and has dedicated her career to advancing the university’s mission through leadership, philanthropy, and alumni engagement. Prior to joining University Advancement, she held key leadership roles within Student Involvement and The Dean of Students Office, where she developed extensive experience in student engagement, leadership development, and campus operations. These experiences provided a strong foundation for her transition into advancement and fundraising leadership at the university.

Robin earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Vanderbilt University and later completed a specialist degree from the University of West Florida. She also holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential, recognizing her professional expertise and commitment to ethical fundraising practices. Her educational background, combined with nearly two decades of experience in higher education, has shaped her collaborative and relationship-driven leadership style.

In her current role as Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations and Development, Robin provides strategic leadership for alumni engagement, philanthropy, and university advancement initiatives. She oversees alumni operations, strategic planning, and board engagement initiatives for the UWF Alumni Association while also leading and overseeing fundraising initiatives across the university, including planned giving efforts for the institution. Throughout her tenure, Robin has been responsible for raising millions of dollars in philanthropic support for the university and has played an instrumental role in strengthening alumni connections, enhancing donor engagement, and advancing initiatives that directly support student success and institutional growth.

Robin is deeply committed to community engagement and regional leadership. She actively serves on numerous local boards and organizations, including Pensacola Little Theatre, Manna Food Pantries, Junior League of Pensacola, Valerie's House, Habitat for Humanity, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Through her professional and volunteer leadership, Robin is passionate about strengthening the Pensacola community and creating meaningful opportunities that positively impact students, families, and the region as a whole.
