Biography

Claire Stewart is the executive director for Annual Giving and Institutional Communications and comes to UWF with ten years of marketing, communications and higher education experience. In her role in the Division of University Advancement, she acts as a communications conduit for the division. Ms. Stewart also serves as the director of marketing for UWF Historic Trust. She specializes in communications planning, social media and communications strategy, marketing and advertising.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama in professional writing with a minor in marketing and a minor in Spanish. While at UNA, Ms. Stewart was a member of the UNA Honors Program, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Society, Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. 

After completing her degree, Ms. Stewart worked at A. Tomlinson/Sims Advertising in Florence, Alabama as the Features Director of No’Ala Magazine. At ATSA, she worked on the No'Ala Magazine Shoals and No'Ala Magazine Huntsville publications. The magazine was highly regarded at local and regional levels earning awards for Single Best Issue, Best Photography, Best Feature, Best Service Journalism, Best Profile, Best Series, Best Design and General Excellence at the MAGS Gamma Awards Southeastern Division in 2013.

In 2014, Ms. Stewart moved to Pensacola, Florida and began working at Columbia Southern Education Group as the social media and email marketing specialist for the organization. In this role, she worked on social media management and email campaigns for Columbia Southern University, Waldorf University and Columbia Southern Education Group. In 2016, Ms. Stewart became the Senior Marketing Manager at CSEG, helping to manage the organization's marketing team through project management and strategic initiatives.

Ms. Stewart completed her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing in 2019 from Columbia Southern University. In 2021, Ms. Stewart was named a Rising Star by Inweekly Pensacola.
