Know Your Rights

You have rights throughout the conduct process. These rights help ensure the process is fair and that you can make informed decisions. If you have questions about your rights, contact our office.

Appeal

If you are found responsible, you may be able to appeal the decision or outcome. Appeals must be submitted within 10 business days of your decision letter.

Pre-Hearing Information

You will have access to information before your hearing, including:

  • Hearing procedures
  • Records that may be presented
  • A list of potential witnesses

Self-Incriminating Statements

You are not required to answer questions. If you choose to share information, it may be used during the process. Choosing not to answer questions will not be used against you.

Student Advisor

You may bring one person with you to a hearing for support. They can help you understand the process and provide guidance. Read more on the Do You Need an Advisor webpage. 

Student Advocate

A student advocate is available to help you understand the process, policies and your options.
