What is Medical Immunity
Your safety comes first. If you call for help during a medical emergency, you may be protected from student conduct charges through UWF’s Medical Immunity policy.
When In Doubt, Call For Help.
UWF is committed to student health and safety. Medical Immunity encourages students to look out for one another and make the right choice without fear of getting in trouble.
What This Means For You
If Medical Immunity is approved by the Vice President of Academic Engagement and Student Affairs (or designee), formal Student Code of Conduct charges related to the incident may be suspended.
Keep In Mind
Medical Immunity isn’t automatic and depends on whether these steps were followed.
How to Qualify for Medical Immunity
Call For Help Right Away
Call 911 or UWF Police 850.474.2415. If it’s safe, stay with the person until help arrives.
Stay and Help
Stick around, keep an eye on them and help however you can safely. Work with emergency responders.
