Combining technical skills with leadership abilities is a winning career formula. Join the management information systems program at UWF and make your mark in this exciting field.

Why Study Management Information Systems at UWF?

Managers in all organizations need accurate, timely and relevant information in order to make effective decisions. A major in MIS will teach you to design, implement and maintain computer-based decision-support systems.

Our faculty are scholars and business professionals with a diverse range of backgrounds. They will guide you through the program and help you achieve your career goals.

The College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, known as AACSB International, something fewer than 4.7% of business schools worldwide can say.

What You Will Learn

The B.S.B.A. in Management Information Systems emphasizes information as a resource to be managed, planned and controlled.

You will learn the concepts and methods of analyzing, designing, planning and managing simple or complex information systems within an organization. In addition, our program emphasizes the managerial aspects of information systems by providing a foundation in core business areas.

You will have the opportunity to work with faculty on research projects and complete internships with local, national or international organizations, gaining real-world application of your classroom learning.

You will acquire the essential problem-solving, organizational and communication skills needed by IT-dependent companies. You will also cultivate management skills needed to manage and discern the effectiveness of different business-processing software.

Minors in business intelligence, information security management, management information systems and e-business present the concepts and methods of information systems within an organization that are helpful preparation for any career.
