The Departments of English and Communication in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities sponsor an Interdisciplinary Writing minor at the undergraduate level that contains core writing courses in composition/rhetoric, creative writing, journalism, and linguistics as well as additional individual elective writing courses selected from across the university. This curriculum is open to all eligible undergraduate students and emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to writing skills that buttress workforce readiness, creativity, communication, critical thought, inquiry, and expression.
Program Details
Faculty and undergraduate students participating in the Interdisciplinary Writing minor find significant new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration focused on writing skills in multiple disciplines, genres, and modalities. The minor in Interdisciplinary Writing not only equips students with professional writing and critical inquiry skills highly prized by employers, but also prepares students to be engaged thinkers, creators, and citizens.
