Dr. Ed Ranelli

Biography
Dr. Ed Ranelli, Professor and Dean Emeritus of the University of West Florida College of Business, was recently appointed as UWF Associate Vice President for External Affairs. Dr. Ranelli also serves as CEO of UWF Business Enterprise, Inc.
Ranelli served as the dean of the UWF College of Business from 2001 to 2013. During his tenure, Ranelli advanced the mission of the College to provide high-quality, student-oriented educational experiences to undergraduate and graduate students and prepare them for successful careers and lives and to contribute to the advancement of the educational and economic development of Northwest Florida.
As dean, Ranelli supported initiatives that led to a new Logistics specialization and degree within the Department of Marketing, a BSBA in General Business, an MBA Program in Germany, and the College of Business Executive Mentor Program. He oversaw the funding, construction and development of the College of Business Education Center, which opened in October 2012. Ranelli also created mutually beneficial partnerships with the Northwest Florida business community, through the UWF Small Business Development Center, the UWF Haas Center and the establishment of the UWF Center for Entrepreneurship and the UWF Maygarden Center for Financial Literacy.
Prior to returning to UWF as business dean, Ranelli previously served as vice president for the Baptist Health Care Corporation. He has been a member of the Downtown Rotary since 2000 and serves as co-chair of the CROP/COB Business Ethics awards committee. He has served on the board of directors of Baptist Health Ventures, Synovus Coastal Bank & Trust, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of West Florida, Children’s Home Society, ARC Gateway, Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, Health First Physician Network, and United Way of Escambia County.
Ranelli received bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Alabama.
