Dr. Ezzat G. Bakhoum

Biography

Dr. Ezzat Bakhoum, Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, is the first author or sole author of 44 peer-reviewed journal articles. He also brings 13 years of industrial experience, including seven years in engineering management. In addition, he holds 10 patents in such areas as digital signature verification technology for credit cards, industrial static dischargers, and ultracapacitors for electric vehicles.

Bakhoum joined UWF in 2006 after teaching for five years at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Prior to that, he worked for Lockheed Martin and ESD Research Inc. Bakhoum received a B.S. degree from Ain Shams University in Egypt before attending Duke University, where he received an M.S. and a Ph.D.  All his degrees are in electrical engineering. His research has ranged into many fields as he examined ways to detect meat spoilage, techniques for data acquisition, laser-activated gold nanoparticles, miniature dew point sensors, and other applications of electrical engineering.
