Academic Resources
Recitation
Recitation is a required component for several mathematics and physics courses. Students will utilize a weekly class meeting to practice skills learned in lecture.
Workshops
Workshops are designed for students to solve problems using techniques learned during lecture courses. Under the leadership of faculty, workshops are lead by student facilitators on a weekly basis to reinforce classroom knowledge. Workshops are optional although most faculty offer incentives for attendance. Workshops are currently offered for BSC 2010 General Biology I, CHM 2045 General Chemistry I, and most 1000/2000 level mathematics courses. The workshop schedule is included in your course syllabus.
Professional Development Academy
Professional preparation is key to career training and development. The Professional Development Academy strives to provide educational experiences for students to be successful in the STEM world. To ensure STEM majors are trained and qualified to enter the workforce, students need access to workforce readiness programs and resources which provide real world experiences. In an effort to create these experiences, OASIS has collaborated with Career Services and academic departments.
