Summary/Job Objective:

Achieve Beyond is leading national Healthcare provider specializing in Pediatric Therapy and Autism services for children from birth through twenty-one years of age. Our family centered approach allows us to work in partnership with families to meet each child’s developmental needs in a nurturing and supportive environment.  We are currently seeking qualified part-time BCBAs to join our team to supervise ABA cases for our private insurance business either in New York, California, Texas or Virginia.  The BCBA would be responsible for providing supervision to trained behavioral therapists providing direct individualized home-based/community Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children on the autism spectrum.   Children receiving services will range in age from two to twenty-one years of age.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

As the Board Certified Behavior Analyst, you will assist with the following but not limited to:

• Provide direct/indirect supervision to behavioral therapists assigned to cases 
• Complete paperwork and performance evaluations during / after observations
• Design curriculum plans, review, and update on a regular basis
• Design behavior intervention plans
• Clinically review reports and session notes on a regular basis  
• Analyze data and implement data-driven program changes
• Write reports summarizing data and progress for each client supervised
• Regular communication with parents, behavioral therapists, and the Achieve Beyond office is required
• Participate in bi-weekly collaborative team meetings for supervised cases
• Conduct assessments for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum ages 2-21 years of age using the ABLLS-R
• Per cases assigned, twice yearly clinical write-ups are required for continued approval of ABA services
• Coordinate with Program Manager / Director of Clinical Services to maintain quality of cases
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with State & Federal regulations).
• Offer suggestions of incorporating individualized goals into family’s daily routine.
• Provide parents and teachers with resources.
• Ensure program quality assurance (services, programs, schedule, staff, etc.)
• Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Educational Requirements:

• Master's Degree in (Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Educational/Health/Human Services, Psychology).
• BCBA REQUIRED

Experience:

Minimum of one year of ABA client/teacher field supervision

Education:

• Our therapists will likely all have a college degree, or be enrolled in a four-year college or university program.  However, to be a great behavior therapist doesn’t require any particular formal education.  We are practical, and invite the best people who care about working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
• One of our founders attended Harvard for graduate school, but we know that formal education doesn’t always mean a great team member, and many of the smartest folks out there pursued other paths in their life.

Training:

• We will provide full training to our behavior therapists, even if you are already a behavior therapist.  We have very high standard for our therapists.  If you are looking for an easy job, this isn’t it.  Our training is rigorous and our work is extremely important, so we screen applicants closely for having the “right stuff”.

Compensation:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will provide highly advanced, evidenced-based, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Behavioral Health (BH) and/or related disorders. The BCBA will provide clinical supervision and consultation to all ABA Training Specialists, and members of behavior support teams in the area of ABA. The position will require the BCBA to conduct observations and assessments relevant to ABA programming and intervention so as to increase appropriate behaviors, and prevent or decrease targeted challenging behaviors. The work entails systematic evaluation of ABA services which include, but are not limited to: Behavioral consultation in the home, school, and community environments; Conducting Functional Assessment and Analysis; Staff and caregiver interviews; Development, training, and monitoring of ABA program strategies, program outcomes, tracking forms, and Behavior Support Plans. The BCBA will be required to provide staff trainings on ABA related topics, and the use of ABA strategies and procedures. The BCBA will work in collaboration with Camino Real’s ABA Program Supervisor to facilitate effective staff management and program implementation. The BCBA will assist with the professional development of ABA Training Specialists including knowledge in ABA, positive behavior support, clinical behavior management, and contemporary behavioral issues to positively impact service delivery. It is the responsibility of the BCBA to maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, department and agency policy, and to develop systems and procedures which meet the standards and requirements therein. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Acts as the ABA Program Supervisor in the temporary absence of the ABA Program Supervisor. Informs the ABA Program Supervisor in a timely manner and with recommendations for correction regarding any significant issues related to behavioral services. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Crisis Intervention Specialist will work under the supervision of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program Supervisor to promote awareness of IDD services to persons with IDD, their families, the community, and other IDD providers in the local service area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing IDD awareness events, developing information materials for distribution, delivering presentations and information which promotes IDD and related services, developing and delivering trainings to various entities which promote the needs of those diagnosed with IDD, develop data collection instruments which track and assess program efficiency/effectiveness to a standard appropriate for weekly internal monitoring, monthly status reporting to direct supervisor, and quarterly reporting prescribed by DADS or as requested. The Crisis Intervention Specialist will be required to collaborate with appropriate LIDDA staff and Transition Support Team members to identify individuals with IDD in the local service area who are at risk of requiring crisis services, such as individuals who exhibit repeated and severe behavior disturbances that jeopardize the individual’s safety or current living arrangement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: collaborate with team members on appropriate and evidence based prevention strategies to teach coping skills which will assist in avoiding potential crisis events, develop and provide training and supports as needed that increase the probability of success to those with IDD in crisis of living in the community (e.g., scheduled respite or planned crisis respite) to avoid a potential crisis event, support members of the service planning team by means of on-going follow-up and monitoring activities (e.g., assisting with addressing concerns and monitoring visits, such as involvement with law enforcement or emergency room visits. The Crisis Intervention Specialist must be available after hours and weekends to address crisis calls.

The Crisis Intervention Specialist will provide trainings related to appropriate engagement of individuals with IDD regarding a crisis event to entities (e.g., MCOT, law enforcement, internal collateral, or others as appropriate) to increase professional competency of these members as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist in developing criteria for referrals of individuals in crisis to receive crisis respite, develop crisis respite service plans describing the therapeutic support needed, collaborate with the individuals service planning team on follow-up and relapse prevention activities (e.g., assisting with transition from crisis respite, addressing concerns/issues identified during monitoring visits, etc.). The Crisis Intervention Specialist will provide supervision and monitoring to all assigned supporting IDD crisis staff in accordance with Camino Real Community Services policies and procedures. The position will require the Crisis Intervention Specialist to conduct observations and assessments relevant to the program on therapeutic recommendations and intervention so as to increase the probability of positive outcomes for the individual in crisis and their families (e.g., systematic evaluation of assigned team members, varying site consultations, Functional Assessment and Analysis, internal/external interviews, provide training, and monitoring of crisis respite plan strategies, monitoring program outcomes, developing and training on tracking forms, etc.). It is the responsibility of the Crisis Intervention Specialist to maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, department and agency policy, and to develop systems and procedures which meet the standards and requirement therein. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:

• Must be licensed or certified in the State of Texas as: BCBA, LPC, LCSW, LPA, or Psychologist, or a Certified Authorized Provider through DADS.

•  Is certified or certifiable by DADS as a Behavior Supports Service Provider as described in 5.161 of Title 40 of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC).

• Must have at least one (1) year of experience working with individuals with IDD in crisis with a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university that was conferred in behavior analysis, psychology, social work, education or related field.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish.
