NWFL GIS User Group Digital Media Competition, Spring 2016

In conjunction with the Northwest Florida GIS User Group spring meeting, the GIS Online program hosted an online competition to showcase local GIS digital projects.

Due to limited response, no peer voting was performed and all participants were given a token of thanks and certificate of participation.

Michelle Wilson - Walton County BCC

Map Journal designed to welcome the public to Walton County. Its purpose is to introduce the County Commissioners, locate the districts, give a brief synopsis of interesting tidbits regarding the districts, and provide links to individual Commissioners and their Aides.


Reba Franklin - Eglin AFB

A Story Map showing the location points in the U.S., Canada and Mexico where Japanese balloon bombs, also known as Fu-Go where found. Includes images, newspaper clippings and links from 1944 - 1945.

Georgianna Strode, FSU

This project introduces and demonstrates a 3-step method for developing land use maps that visualize the degree of land use mixture. The intended audience is anyone interested in taking a closer look at land use maps and how they are created.

A story map giving an overview and display of some of the Coastal Research conducted in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of West Florida.
