The Kugelman Honors Program begins sending invitations in January; eligible freshman students have until May 1 to accept or decline; and eligible transfer students have until July 1 to accept or decline.
Course Requirements and Academic Fit
No. The honors curriculum is designed to integrate with degree requirements without extending graduation timelines. Honors advisors can help with course planning.
Honors courses prioritize interdisciplinary learning, critical thinking, and active engagement. They are designed to challenge students through meaningful, high-quality work rather than an overwhelming workload.
No. Currently, the Kugelman Honors Program is only available to students enrolled in on-campus programs.
Housing and Living Learning Communities (LLCs)
No. Living in Pace Hall, the Honors LLC, is optional. However, it is highly recommended for first-year students as it helps build a strong sense of community and connection.
No. Students may indicate their housing preferences when they complete a housing contract for the term(s) they would like to live on campus.

Workload and Time Commitment
Honors courses and activities are designed to fit seamlessly into your existing schedule. Most students balance honors requirements with other commitments, such as athletics, internships, or part-time jobs.
Yes! Many honors students manage multiple commitments by developing strong time management skills and utilizing resources like peer mentors, the Writing Lab, and Tutoring and Learning Resources.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Yes! After completing the Honors Core pathway requirement(s), Kugelman Honors Program students are eligible to apply for exclusive scholarships.
There are no direct costs associated with joining the Honors Program. Any additional expenses are optional and typically related to study abroad opportunities, often partially subsidized through a scholarship by the Kugelman Honors Program.
