Angela Gentry

Biography

Angela grew up in a military family spending most of her childhood in Germany. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe including the countries of Spain, Italy, France, and the Island of Dutch Sint Maarten. She has also traveled to The Middle East and spent weeks exploring the culture of Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, and frequently vacations in Mexico. Angela believes building relationships with those you teach leads to greater outcomes in a student’s success. {Over her 25 years in education Angela has served in many
roles. She has been an ESL/Certified teacher since 2005 and teaching students from different cultures brings her great joy. While in FWISD she served as a Classroom Teacher, a Data Analyst creating and overseeing State Standardized Tests, and an Intervention Specialist for the district planning, organizing, and presenting professional development to educators. During her service in SISD in the Houston area, Angela served as the districts Science Curriculum Specialist, designing, and supporting the development
and implementation of curriculum instruction and assessment documents for state standardized tests. She received her BS in Sociology Degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Her Masters (MALA) from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.} When she decided to teach in 2005, she received her Alternative Teaching Certification with FWISD T-Mate Program through Tarleton State University in Stephenville Texas. In 2013 she received her TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certification at The University of Dallas in
Irving Texas through Oxford Seminars. In her spare time, she loves to garden, she grows food as well as medicinal herbs and flowers. She became a Master Gardener, in 2000 and served, plus volunteered on The Fort Worth Botanical Garden Society Board, The Houston Botanical Society Board and The Texas Agricultural Extension Agency helping implement and build school gardens which became known as Outdoor Learning Centers.
