We believe that community service and active citizenship opportunities help students become informed, responsible citizens. We support student volunteers by identifying opportunities, facilitating placement with service opportunities and recognizing participation in community service. For information about service-learning opportunities related to an academic course, please refer to Career Development & Community Engagement. We strive to be resources that can help match the issues our students are passionate about with the organizations or agencies that are addressing those specific issues.
As a result of participation in community service opportunities, students will be able to:
- Reflect on community service as a component of responsible citizenship.
- Describe and analyze the social issues relevant to the community organization or agency in which they serve.
- Engage in meaningful and repetitive action in local communities.
We encourage registered non-profit organizations that have volunteer or service opportunities to post their oppotunities using the ArgoPulse Involvmenet Weekly Submission Form or emailing out staff about service opportunities at email@example.com.
When volunteer opportunities are requested to be posted, Student Engagment then shares these opportunites with UWF students through email, social media, and our studnent database, ArgoPulse.
If you have specific questions about the AroPulse system, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. For uestions regarding the Handshake system (job and internship posting platform), please contact our partnering department, Career Development & Community Engagment. They manage the database and can be contacted at 850.474.2254 or email@example.com.
