Each year the UWF Department of Theatre offers talent scholarships to incoming freshmen and transfer students. You must audition or present your Design/Tech portfolio in order to be considered for a Talent Scholarship; the audtions can occur at the Open House Dates posted under the Auditions section of our Backstage website. We award two John c. Pace incoming Freshmen and two additonal scholarships for incoming transfer students in theare, and during some academic years there are other scholarships available.
You may apply for Theatre Department talent scholarship as a performer, stage manager, or designer. However; receiving a scholarship in one area will not preclude you from working in other areas of theatre as your interests and talents grow. Audition Monologues, Portfolio Reviews, and Interviews are conducted throughout the year at the University’s Theatre Department as well as at the Florida Theatre Conference in the fall for High School Seniors, and the Southeastern Theatre Conference each spring for High School Juniors. Those who audition or interview at one of the Theatre conferences are strongly encouraged to visit the University on an open house date to audition and be considered for the Talent Scholarhips, and interview with the entire faculty.
