Glenn Avery Breed- Assistant Professor of Design/Technology
An Austin native, Glenn received his BA in Theatre from St. Edward's University and his MFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During his time at CCM he served as the Costume Designer for Don Giovanni, directed by Paula Wiliams of the Metropolitan Opera. He served as the asst. costume designer for Brigadoon, The Voyage of Edgar Allen Poe, and Ariodante. Prior to CCM Glenn served as the Costume Shop Manager and Instructor at New Mexico State University. At NMSU he designed the costumes for Antigone, Arcadia, A Christmas Carol ('01 and '03), and co-design for Romeo and Juliet. He spent five years as the Resident Designer for West Virginia Public Theatre designing over 40+ productions. He has designed for musical theatre, straight theatre, opera, and film. He has worked as a designer and technologist for Ensemble Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the State Theatre, Public Domain Theatre, and Chautauqua Theatre Company, among others. Glenn also serves at the Resident Costume Designer for Pensacola Opera where he has recently desgined The Magic Flute and Cosi Fan Tutte, and the Upcoming Widows Lantern. In the Summers Glenn Serves at the Resident Costume Designer for the Brevard Music Center's Janiec Opera Company under the Artistic Direction of David Gately. Past Shows at BMC include, The Magic Flute, The Mikado, Little Women (Opera), The Tales of Hoffmann, Hello Dolly!, and Suor Angelica/Giannhi Schicci.
