Student employment

We’re a community of student employees taking care of our community of student residents! Housing and Residence Life is the second largest employer of students on campus. We employ 60+ Resident Assistants and dozens of Student Desk Assistants each Fall and Spring. During the Summer, we employ a variety of Student Assistants to assist with residents’ needs, camps, conferences, and New Student Orientation.

For this reason, we have a multi-step application process designed to let you, the applicant, see what it’s like to work with housing, and which position is the best fit for you:


Steps in the Employment Process

Step 1: Attend an Information Session 

  • New LLC RA, RA, and SDA
  • Information Sessions are required for all new staff to attend before being interviewed. The application link will be provided in the information session. 
  • The information session will also provide more information about interviews

Step 2: Apply for the position(s) you are interested in
Note: You can apply to multiple positions

Step 3: Attend the Group Interview Day
Note: All new applicants

Step 4: Participate in the individual interview process

Step 5: If selected, accept an offer for employment

Step 6: Complete required new hire paperwork

Step 7: Attend all training

We will be reviewing application materials on an ongoing basis. We do not require all applicants to be enrolled or accepted into a graduate program at UWF before they interview, however we can only offer positions after the candidate has been accepted into a UWF graduate program.
