Eric Schade

Biography

Eric Schade is a clinical assistant professor in the UWF Department of Social Work and a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Florida. At UWF, he teaches clinical skills to graduate and undergraduate students and assists with the MSW field program and advising. He has taught Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups at the graduate level and the following undergraduate courses: Work with Groups; Families and Family Treatment; and Human Behavior in the Social Environment.  

Schade has extensive clinical psychotherapy experience with adolescent and adult clients, working in college counseling, private practice, and substance abuse recovery settings.  While a staff clinician for UWF Counseling and Psychological Services, he facilitated a weekly meditation outreach, leading guided meditations for students, staff, and faculty on topics including concentration, relaxation, and effective visualization.  Eric is formerly a registered landscape architect.  

He has a Master of Social Work from Florida State University.  Academic interests include exploring relationships between attention, and emotional and behavioral outcomes; and ways in which culture and disadvantage may act as mediators.
