Biography

John David “JD” Thomas earned a BSBA in Finance, along with a certificate in Supply Chain Logistics, from the University of West Florida in 2008. During his time at UWF and alongside Dr. Scott Keller, he was a founding member and later served as President of the Marketing and Logistics Association—an experience he considers the most valuable investment in his professional journey.  

Following graduation, JD relocated to Houston, Texas, where he joined Crane Worldwide Logistics through its leadership development program. Crane Worldwide Logistics is a global supply chain solutions provider with operations in over 35 countries, specializing in transportation and logistics services. Over the years, JD has held a variety of operational, commercial, and leadership roles across the organization. He currently serves as Regional Vice President, overseeing one of Crane Worldwide’s six global regions. In this capacity, he leads both operational and commercial teams across multiple markets.  JD has also earned his Executive MBA from Texas A&M.  He and his wife Kate—a proud UWF alum—reside in Houston, Texas, where they are raising their two children, John Brooks and Mary Elizabeth.
