Gerald Adcox

Biography

Gerald Adcox is a seasoned financial executive with 30 years of mergers and acquisitions experience. He started his career as a bank auditor for the largest bank holding company in Florida, and became an auditor and account manager for Walter E. Heller in New Orleans, specializing in leveraged buyouts and financing for emerging companies. At age 25, he was the youngest officer for this $4 billion finance company. 

Adcox later joined the Medart Companies in 1981 as Chief Financial Officer and Assistant to the Chairman, where he led the purchase and managed the financial turnaround strategy of a group of companies exceeding $90 million in annual revenues with eight manufacturing facilities and 1,100 employees. The companies were sold to various public companies in 1988. Adcox then directed the acquisition of three daily newspapers and five magazines in Southern California, becoming a shareholder and Executive Vice President of the operation. 

He returned to Pensacola in 1991, where he now owns and operates a successful luxury car dealership. He holds licenses in mortgage brokering, real estate, and he is a Certified Collector Car Appraiser. 

Addox graduated from UWF with degrees in Accounting and Finance, and received UWF’s first Distinguished Business Alumnus Award. His extensive charitable service includes President of the Ronald McDonald House, Chairman of the Cattle Barons Ball for the American Cancer Society, Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation Board Member, Chairman of the Development Board of Sacred Heart Foundation, Vice Chair of Escambia County Value Adjustment, and numerous other civic organizations. He currently serves as a past chairman of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity and served on the board of WSRE. 

He is a member of Five Flags Rotary and continues to serve as Vice Chairman on the Escambia County Florida Value Adjustment Board. In 2015, Adcox received the prestigious Order of Cornette Award for dedication to Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, given on the 100th anniversary of the hospital. He currently serves as a director of PenAir Credit Union, serves on the UWF Foundation Board, and director of the Pensacola State College Alumni Board.
