Brian and Kimberly Pennington

Biography

Brian Pennington, of Shalimar, joined the family business, TYBRIN Corporation, a software engineering and weapon systems testing services contractor, as the Chief Financial Officer in 1992, serving the business originally founded by his Father, Bill Pennington, in 1972.

Brian managed the financial affairs of the company until 1996 when he relinquished his title as Chief Financial Officer to become the Executive Vice President of TYBRIN to support the growing business. Over the next 13 years, TYBRIN grew to over 1,500 employees with operations and offices around the world.  In 2009, TYBRIN joined Jacobs Engineering ($14B), as a move to launch the business into new avenues and help the company reach greater heights under a publicly held organization.  Brian continued to operate the company as President and General Manager of the new Division of Jacobs Engineering until retiring in 2013 and taking on other roles outside the business.

Brian has worked with several civic organizations in the region including the Okaloosa Economic Development Council, the Board of Trustees for Northwest Florida State College and the Northwest Florida State College Foundation. Brian and Kim are both passionate about their faith, serving the United Methodist Church, both locally and beyond, over the years.  Kim also serves on the Board of the Emerald Coast Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Brian attended the University of Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1989. After earning his Master of Accountancy degree at the University of West Florida in 1991, Brian became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida in 1992.  

Kim attended the University of Florida, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1990. She also earned her Master of Accountancy degree from the University of West Florida in 1992.

Brian and Kim have been married for 30 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
