Biography

Chasidy Hobbs is an Instructor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, where she teaches Introduction to Environmental Science along with other courses. Hobbs has both a B.S. and a M.S. in Environmental Science from UWF. She also is advising and internship coordinator for the department and serves on Faculty Senate.Her primary research areas involve the creation and enforcement of state and local environmental regulations and environmental education and outreach for K-12 and community audiences.

Hobbs has made presentations on local environmental quality, water law, the aftermath of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the economic benefit of trees in urban areas. She is President of the Board of Directors for Keep Pensacola Beautiful, Vice President of the Board of Directors for Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, a member of the City of Pensacola’s Environmental Advisory Board, Coordinator of Bay Day in Escambia County, and a member of the Escambia County Environmental Education Coordination Team. Hobbs won a Distinguished Faculty Service Award in 2014 and was nominated for SGA Distinguished Teaching Award in 2016.
