Committed to Your Success
Although your college experience may seem out of the ordinary right now, the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering faculty and staff are here to help you make it a success. Please read this welcome message from Dean Khabou and explore the different ways you can succeed and get involved.
Dear HMCSE students,
Welcome to UWF and we are glad you are here!
The Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering (HMCSE) faculty and staff remain committed to your success. The college has many initiatives in place aimed at your success. Please check out STEM Success as well as college tutoring and workshop opportunities. We also partner with Tutoring and Learning Resources to provide tutors in a wide array of courses. The college has a variety of opportunities that will engage you to be successful. Please check them out!
The college enjoys a strong culture of student-involved or student-led research. In particular, the college has the Summer Undergraduate Research Program that many of our students have found invaluable. We also help and value student participation in industry internships and co-ops. Each HMCSE department has a variety of ways to involve students in research and other meaningful activities, whether via a capstone course or the faculty’s laboratory.
We hope you will get involved. Please get to know your department and what it has to offer via student clubs, programs, and success initiatives. The HMCSE faculty and advisors are committed to you being successful here at UWF and beyond.
