Welcome to October!
There’s a lot happening this month! You’ll experience your first UWF Homecoming, start planning for Spring classes with your advisor, and see some of your favorite campus offices get into the October spirit.
New Argo October 2026
Homecoming starts October 9
Homecoming is a week-long celebration of Argo pride and spirit. All week students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of West Florida come together to breathe blue and green! Join us for all our traditional events, competitions, and activities as we celebrate UWF!
Free drop-in tutoring is available for most general subjects. Don't need a tutor? Try Academic Coaching or attend an Academic Success Workshops.
If you're not sure about your current major or career choice, or would like help planning your next steps toward the career that you're currently pursuing, schedule a Career and Major Exploration appointment in Handshake. You will meet with a Career Coach to explore your options and discuss strategies that can help you make an informed decision.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides counseling and psychiatric services to support students with personal challenges, stress, and adjusting to college life. Visit the CAPS website to learn more or schedule an appointment.
Early Warning Alert: what to do if you get one
If you receive an Early Warning Alert, don’t panic. Review the UWF resources on this page and connect with your advisor, professors, or other academic support services to make a plan for getting back on track.
Check to see if you have any holds and get those cleared, so when Spring class registration opens up, you can snag those coveted spots without having to wait on a hold to be cleared. Instructions on how to check for holds are available on the Confluence page linked in this headline.
