UWF Closures
A UWF closure is a suspension of normal university activities. Many departments, such as the Police and Facilities, continue essential activities but the rest of the University is closed.
A UWF closure decision is made by the UWF president or his/her designee. Issues related to closing are coordinated with local officials via the Escambia County Emergency Operations Center.
Building Emergency Coordinator (BEC) Closure Activities
- Ensure completion of closure checklists for UWF Hurricane Tasks Preparation Checklist for Offices as well as UWF Hurricane Tasks Preparation Checklist for Labs and Research Areas
- Bring in or secure loose items outside of the building
- Secure vehicles
- Monitor information from UWF administration regarding operational schedules
