The Argos for Autism Program

The UWF Center for Behavior Analysis and Student Accessibility Resources partner to provide the Argos for Autism program, a two-day early arrival orientation workshop designed to help incoming students navigate campus and experience a successful transition to college. UWF campus partners also engage in training to learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder and strategies to support this population. In 2018, the program expanded to include a parent workshop. Behavior analysis students provide peer support as mentors for the program throughout the school year. In 2019, Argos for Autism expanded again to include UWF Career Development and Community Engagement. Grant funding will support the development of a capstone internship program for Argos for Autism students to gain valuable work experience prior to graduation. The University of West Florida was recently ranked No. 2 for the second consecutive year by Best Value Schools for Students with Autism.
