Biography
John Dougherty is an instructor of art specializing in graphic design and new media.
As an artist, Dougherty has offered expertise in a variety of roles. He served as an art preparator for the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Feldman Gallery, and Bravo Art Handling Inc., Freelance Art Handling. He has also designed for multiple companies and led students as a design mentor for various media, including student publications, websites, and design exhibitions.&
Dougherty’s work has been featured in exhibits in Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, New York, and Florida, as well as multiple publications, including Tom Tom Magazine.
For his work, Dougherty has won multiple awards, including the Springfield Regional Arts Council Grant for Exhibition.
Degrees & Institutions
Dougherty earned a BFA in Visual Art, concentration in studio art, from the University of West Florida in 2009 and an MFA in Visual Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in in 2014.
