The University Commons Student Activities Office coordinates over 100 Registered Student Organizations (RSO’s) in a variety of categories including Academic, Professional, Greek, Honor, Religious, and Special Interest. Membership in these organizations provides students with the opportunity to make friends, participate in service activities, support their academic department, begin to build a personal and professional network, practice their personal faith, work toward social or political goals, or just have fun.
Club Fair
At the beginning of each Fall term, the Club Fair, held in conjunction with Fall Frenzy, provides an opportunity for organizations to set up display tables, recruit new members and advertise their programs and services.
Leadership Recognition
UCSA, in cooperation with other Student Affairs departments, hosts the Annual Student Affairs Student Leadership Awards Banquet to recognize student leaders and organizations that have demonstrated excellence.
Leadership Support Services
The University Commons provides leadership support services for RSO’s through several channels. Our staff maintains a menu of presentation topics that are offered at regular intervals throughout the year. Any topic can be presented on request to an individual student organization, and groups may also request a special workshop tailored to a specific need. Currently available topics include:
- Parliamentary Procedure and other Meeting Management Skills
- Goal Setting and Planning
- Leadership Transition
- Event Planning
- Publicity
A variety of on-line resources is also available. Just use the links below to access various handbooks, lists and guides.
