Program Information
The goal of the Administrative Studies specialization, and its options,
is to provide students in education, government, non-profit and for-profit
organizations with the advanced knowledge and skills to meet the challenges
of administration in a service-oriented setting. In addition, the specialization
aspires to empower students as facilitators of change. Recognizing the
demands of different settings, two options are available: public administration
and healthcare administration.
Public Administration
This specialization focuses on some combination of the following areas:
administrative and social politics; human resources and organizational
theory; diversity and leadership skills; non-profit and governmental
finance and economic theory; changes and growth in administration policy;
and policy analysis and strategic planning.
Healthcare Administration
This specialization focuses on some combination of the following areas:
administrative and social politics; diversity and leadership skills;
changes and growth in administration policy; policy analysis and strategic
planning; and health education.
