Whitney Anderson graduated from Florida State University with a dual B.A. in Anthropology and English Literature and a minor in Classical Archaeology. She has worked on terrestrial and submerged sites from the South Pacific to the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Eastern Europe. In addition, she has extensive experience in the field of marine survey, both in the private marine archaeology sector and as a hydrographer charting Alaskan coastal waters aboard the NOAA ship Rainier. Her interests include remote sensing and the application of multibeam sonar in underwater archaeology, the sonic properties of shipwreck assemblages, Iberian ship construction and Mesoamerican cave archaeology.
