Programs

Every year Fraternity and Sorority members take part in educational programs put on by Fraternity and Sorority Life, the University of West Florida, and respective national headquarters. These educational programs provide our students with skills to enhance their fraternity and sorority life experience, tools to become a better leader, and valuable personal growth and development.

New Member Institute (NMI)

Fraternity and Sorority Life's New Member Institute (NMI) is an in-person program for new members from all fraternities and sororities on the University of West Florida campus. The program helps the new members develop the values of Fraternity and Sorority Life at UWF. Members of our community lead this program in many ways. New members develop their knowledge of various topics, including Wellness, Title IX, Academic Success, and the Fraternity and Sorority Life experience. New members of our Panhellenic and IFC organizations must attend NMI the semester they join. New members of our NPHC and MGC communities must attend the semester following their induction.

Monthly Officer Workshops

Monthly Officer Workshops are required monthly meetings that two officers from each organization must attend. These workshops help the leaders of the fraternity and sorority community build relationships and enhance leadership skills. The leaders learn valuable skills to assist them in leading their organizations and councils. The topics covered include values, integrity, wellness, risk management, and academic excellence. Our fraternity and sorority leaders look forward to these workshops and enjoy breaking down the barriers and developing relationships with the other leaders in our fraternal community.
