Biography
Dr. Miu Ha Kwong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work.
Dr. Kwong’s research has examined proven skills and knowledge in teaching, qualitative and quantitative research methods, mental health issues, clinical evaluation, and trauma.
Kwong’s teaching expertise and interests include: generalist, clinical, advanced practice, psychotherapies, mental health and behavioral health, psychopathology and abnormal psychology, human behavior and social environment, multicultural practice and cultural diversity and trauma studies and counseling.
In 2016, the International Conference on Social Science and Management & International Symposium on Education, Psychology and Social Sciences published a work Kwong wrote on “Volunteerism: Factors of cross-geographical help behaviors in Japan 311 survivors.”
Other peer-reviewed journals publishing Kwong’s work include Journal of Mental health Training, Education Practice and the Social Work Education: International Journal.
Degrees & Institutions
Dr. Kwong received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wheelock College, and a master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Kwong went on to earn a doctorate degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University.
