Biography
Dr. Campbell, Associate Professor and the Social Work department chair at the University of West Florida has more than 30 years of clinical, administrative, and research experience in the social work profession.
Campbell joined UWF in 2024 and has a doctorate in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida and a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University. Dr. Campbell’s work has primarily focused on integrated behavioral health services to address comorbid medical, mental health, and substance use disorder concerns. He maintains a clinical license in social work and continues to partner with a variety of health services organizations to encourage an evidence-based approach to address behavioral health concerns such as integrated service delivery models and the effective treatment of opioid use disorders among other complex clinical issues.
Dr. Campbell remains actively engaged in efforts to promote best practices in social work education and is passionate about data-driven decision-making. He is equally aligned with the role that servant leadership plays in guiding social work efforts to promote equity and wellness in the students and communities social workers serve.
